Bar and Tray Luach

Both tools provide daily information without any clicking

The bar is located at the bottom of the Microsoft Internet Explorer window and is started automatically with Microsoft Internet Explorer

The upper digits in the icon are the hour and the lower digits the minutes of the next Zman.


The tooltip appears when the mouse cursor is placed over the icon (without clicking).

When clicking on the icon with the Zman, the following window appears:

Features

• Over 1000 locations for times calculation
• Current Jewish date in English or Hebrew, also copyable into clipboard

• Daylight Savings Time, also for Israel
• 12 or 24 hour time format

• Zmanim (the next coming Zman is displayed)
  with the following calculation methods
  • Alot Hashachar: 16.1 degrees below horizon, 72 minutes before sunrise, 90 minutes before sunrise, 72 proportional minutes before sunrise
  • Earliest Tallit: 11 degrees below horizon, 10.2 degrees below horizon
  • Kriat Shema: M"A, GR"O
  • Tefila: M"A, GR"O
  • Chatzot: GR"O, M"A
  • Mincha Gedola: GR"O, M"A
  • Mincha K'tana: GR"O, M"A
  • Plag HaMincha: GR"O, M"A
  • Tzait Hakochavim: 5.95 degrees below horizon, 3 Medium Stars (7.5 degrees below horizon), 3 Small Stars (8.75 degrees below horizon), Rabbeinu Tam (sunset + 72 minutes)

Downloading and installing the program

Download the program by clicking here ^*) free of charge (operating instructions are below).
When asked whether to open or save the file, click on Save.

The file size is 210944 bytes. If starting the program does not work and the file size differs, download the file again.

In order to install the program, click in an Explorer Window on the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.

If you change the settings, you have to do that twice since the Bar Luach cannot use the settings made of the Tray Luach because Bar Luach runs inside the Protected Mode of the Internet Explorer and security policies of the Internet Explorer doesn't allow Bar Luach to access the settings made in Tray Luach so that Bar Luach stores his own settings.
Changing the settings must be done in the following way:

• In the Tray Luach, click with the right mouse button on the tray symbol of the Tray Luach and then on "Configure..."
• In the Internet Explorer, display a website in the Internet, click on the bar of the Bar Luach with the left mouse button and then on "Configure..."

When using the 64-Bit of Windows and if no city can be selected in the configuration dialog box, you have to copy the files NAMES.TXT, CITIES.TXT and ZMANIM.TXT from the C:\Windows\System32 folder to the C:\Users\<User name>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Windows\SysWOW64 folder (replace <User name> with the account name of the current user)

Operating the programs

Bar Luach

After installation, the Bar Luach has to be activated in the Internet Explorer by launching the Internet Explorer, clicking on View, Explorer Bar and placing a checkmark besides Jewish Date

By clicking on the left mouse button, settings regarding the displayed data can be made, or the current Jewish date can be copied into the clipboard.

Tray Luach

By clicking on the right mouse button, settings regarding the displayed data can be made, or the current Jewish date can be copied into the clipboard.

After clicking on the left mouse button, the string in the tooltip is shown in a message dialog box.
